Orlando Bloom is giving serious ‘Legolas’ vibes as he wields a bow in the King of Avalon trailer – this is the latest role to add to his portfolio that’s helped him amass a staggering net worth.
The new trailer for King of Avalon, a free-to-play mobile strategy game, has landed and Bloom is back on the battlefield fighting enemies to promote his new character being added into the game – and if you ever loved him as Legolas or Will Turner this is the game for you.
Orlando Bloom in King Of Avalon
The latest version of the game Frost & Flame: King of Avalon, like the original, is inspired by Arthurian legend. Along with the established much-loved features, according to Collider, players can experience new features ‘as they lead their army to take the throne and breed dragons to help them in their endeavors’.
One main key feature is a new character available to download, Orlando the Nightshard, who, of course, has a stunning likeness to Bloom and his notable characters in Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean.
In the trailer, Bloom is a knight, in full shining armour, who begins to become overrun by enemies. He orders one soldier to ‘blow the horn’ – a signal to call in reinforcement – but when the soldier is killed Bloom blows the horn himself.
The trailer then cuts to real life and a person laying in bed isn’t responding to Bloom’s call – which is a notification for him – so in-game Bloom grabs a bow and arrow and fires it out of the came. Out of the game, it’s revealed the sleeping person is the actor and he’s woken to play his game when the little arrow bounces off his head.
Orlando Bloom rise to fame
Ok, this isn’t Bloom’s biggest role to date, but it definitely gives serious Legolas vibes reminding fans of his past roles.
The 45-year-old British actor may be best known for his roles in LOTR and The Hobbit, but he actually started out his career with small cameos in such movies as Wilde in 1997 and the British series Midsomer Murders before he went on to study acting at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Just two days after he graduated he was cast as Legolas in LOTR – as they say, the rest is history with that film franchise. He followed this up by entering the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, starring in the first three movies and making a brief supporting appearance as Will Turner in the film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, in 2017.
As well as the Hobbit franchise Bloom starred in a series of movies including Elizabeth Town, Troy, New York, I Love You, The Three Musketeers, and the Prime Video series Carnival Row.
