Many people set a lifelong goal of traveling to each of the 7 continents. If this is one of your plans, it’s never too early to start. The first step is to narrow down your choices. After all, if you’re traveling to a continent, you’ll need to have a specific destination in mind. Each continent has a multitude of great places to visit, but it can be easier to plan once you’ve chosen one. So, here are some fantastic places to travel for your 7 continent bucket list.

Africa

One great option is a trip to Sossusvlei, Namibia. The Namib desert is home to a unique and breathtaking topography, and has claim to fame as the world’s oldest desert. You can see vast red dunes interspersed with valleys of petrified trees. You can also see rhinos and other wildlife at Etosha National Park, and take a tour of the Skeleton Coast, so named for the skeletons of wrecked ships one can see there.

Antarctica

Antarctica can sometimes be seen as the last continent people think of to go, or simply a place to go for the sake of going there. However, there are still plenty of great things to see there. South Georgia in particular offers a beautiful landscape to take in, with gorgeous fjords and massive glaciers, as well as the ruins of old whaling stations.

Asia

A great destination is Hoi An, Vietnam. This ancient trading port city has beautiful period architecture, a fantastic Museum of History and Culture and much more. Plus, if you plan your visit around the moon cycle, you can catch the lantern festival.

Australia

Next on the 7 continent bucket list is Australia. A trip to Tasmania has something for everyone. Whether you want to take in nature at one of the region’s many national parks, tour a distillery, catch a festival or visit the Museum of Old and New Art, you’re sure to enjoy yourself.

Europe

The Greek island of Santorini is hard to beat, especially for a summer vacation. Its signature white architecture is striking on the volcanic landscape and against the bright blue sea. With jet black as well as red sand beaches, the atmosphere is otherworldly.

North America

Why not plan a trip to Montreal? You can take in the Notre-Dame Basilica in the Old Montreal district, visit the Botanical Garden, the Biodome, or get something to eat at the famous Jean-Talon market.

South America

Situated near the Andes, Quito, Ecuador is known for its colourful architecture and beautiful mountainside vistas. With an old town dating back to the 16th century, Quito has a lot of history. It’s also the highest elevated capital city in the world.
