Okay, so there were a lot of changes during the pandemic. As a society, there were big, monumental edits to things that we hadn’t even realised needed changing. So, sorry Harry, not everything needs to go back to ‘as it was’, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Working From Home

The big one. Although this was a thing pre-pandemic, nobody could have predicted the way that this has changed our society, for better or for worse.

For a lot of jobs, we are now able to cut commute times, work more flexible hours and do business across the globe without actually travelling. However, I have personally witnessed a sad decline in team dynamics and community spirit as a result of this.

Having said this, I do love my job, a job that I have been working in for two years. The catch? I haven’t actually met my boss, despite the fact that she only lives a short commute away.

Fashion

Recently, while commenting on post-pandemic office attire, businessman Steven Bartlett noted that wearing a suit to an interview could now be a ‘red flag‘. Bartlett claims that by wearing a suit and tie, it doesn’t give an accurate reflection of your true personality.

Obviously, there are instances where you would need to wear a suit and tie. However, this suggestion of wearing more relaxed, personal clothing is something that I can definitely get on board with. Particularly in an era where working online is now the norm.

Work/Life Balance

After the collective mental health of the entire world plummeted during the pandemic, there was a major emphasis on self-care. Almost synonymous with self-care is a better work/life balance.

Having been separated from friends and family for so long, people have learned to appreciate more family time. Although work is still a major part of normal life, as a society, we are learning that work isn’t our entire life.
