Quick And Easy 2000s Inspired Halloween Costumes That Are So Fetch

Ella Kipling October 25, 2022

MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, camera phones, and Bluetooth are all things we can thank the noughties for. However, the 2000s also brought us some iconic fashion moments, TV and film characters, and a whole era of fashion that has already made a comeback today. Let’s take a look at some of the simplest, cheapest, and most easily recognisable 2000s Halloween costumes.

Kim Possible

This outfit is easily recognisable and super simple as it can be made from things you might already have in your wardrobe. Start with a pair of green cargo pants, throw on a long-sleeved black crop top, and pull on some black gloves, and you already have your outfit. Complete the look with an orange wig, though this step can obviously be missed if you’re a natural ginger.

Miss Congeniality

Again, this can be used as a simple costume idea. If you have a pink dress at home, you already have half the outfit sorted. Put on a pink dress (in the movie she wears a long one but, if you prefer a shorter hem, it doesn’t make too much of a difference) and pair it with black combat boots.

Add a tiara (you can pick these up very cheaply online and in shops such as Poundland) and the ‘FBI’ sash which you can get on Amazon or make yourself if you’re feeling thrifty! To really sell this look, add the black thigh holster Sandra Bullock wears whilst playing the badass undercover agent, and a mini America flag.

Mean Girls

If you have two other friends, going as the Plastics from Mean Girls is a great costume idea for Halloween. If you wanted to go all out you could don their Christmas concert outfits, but you can still pull off the look on a smaller budget.

Pink mini-skirts, white cropped three-quarter length tops, and cropped pink jackets are staples of the Plastics’ look. Throw on some heels and teeny 2000s handbags, and you’re good to go!

Cheetah Girls

This is another perfect group costume, but this time for four people. Galleria, Chanel, Aqua, and Dorinda had an iconic statement look that you can easily replicate with velour tracksuits and cheetah print accessories. Add some colour-coordinated accessories, cheetah print headbands, and hoop earrings and there you have it. Remember, each Cheetah Girl had their own colour and their entire outfit would be that colour, whether it was purple, yellow, pink, or blue. So, pick your colour and stick to it!

Paris Hilton

It is pretty much impossible to think of the 2000s and not think about Paris Hilton. The it girl of the noughties, Paris gave us look after look (and, of course, The Selfie) which means that you can easily dress up as her thanks to her many iconic outfits. To embody Paris for Halloween, simply don her uniform of a Juicy Couture velour tracksuit, matching oversized sunglasses, and a handbag.

Alternatively, you could go as Paris at her 21st birthday party by wearing a sparkly silver backless dress. Iconic.

These are just a few examples of 2000s Halloween costumes. But, given how iconic they are, we think they’re up there with the best.
