Rose Theatre Releases New Autumn Season

The Rose Theatre in Kingston upon Thames has released their Autumn season of arts, where they are having three plays take to the stage.

One play in particular, the revival of Caucasian Chalk Circle, features West End star Carrie Hope Fletcher.

This will be Fletcher’s first play, which is something quite exciting.

The play runs from 1 to 22 October, with tickets on sale now on the Rose Theatre website.

The play’s synopsis states: ‘A thrilling and romantic adventure, The Caucasian Chalk Circle is a story of hope emerging in a time of chaos. In the midst of a bloody revolution, a young woman risks all to raise the abandoned child of the Governor and his wife. Years later, when the Governor’s wife returns seeking her son, a rogue judge turns justice on its head. Can the test of the chalk circle determine which of the two women is the boy’s true mother?’

Fletcher expressed her excitement for the new role on Twitter after hinting at a new job that she had said that no one would be able to guess.

Other shows

Later on in the season of theatre, there will be a new staging of The Two Popes, starring Anton Lesser (Game of Thrones) and Nicholas Woodeson (Baptiste), running from 9 to 23 September. As well as The Importance of Being Earnest, playing from 1 to 12 November.

The season closes with a new version of A Christmas Carol by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, with the show running from 2 December to 2 January.
