With Christmas just a few weeks away, cities across the country will be lighting up the streets and holding events to get residents in the Christmas spirit. We have compiled Sheffield’s best Christmas events to get you feeling a little more festive.
Sheffield Christmas Markets
Sheffield’s best loved Christmas markets make their return today! Running from 17 November and all the way through December, expect Yorkshire pudding wraps, churros, a host of independent shops and of course, the famous alpine bars. Grab a drink, do your Christmas shopping or hit the fairground rides. There will be over 50 market stalls, running across Fargate, the Peace Gardens and the Moor from 10am-6pm every day. The Christmas markets are Sheffield’s favourite way to get into the festive spirit.
Christmas Lights Switch On
Sheffield’s Christmas light switch on takes place on 20 November this year and will be a full afternoon event. In Barker’s Pool and Town Hall Square from 2pm-6pm, expect street entertainers, choirs, dancers and a fairground. The main event, the light switch on, will take place at 6pm and be followed by fireworks, which can be seen from across the city centre.
