Bridgerton star, Simone Ashley, confirmed she won’t be in the hit Netflix series, Sex Education, anymore after saying ‘I’m a Bridgerton girl now’.
In an interview with ITV’s This Morning she confirmed she wouldn’t be returning for season four of the teen school drama to focus on her role in Bridgerton.

The 27-year-old actor played the role of Olivia Hanan, a member of the ‘Untouchables’, in the first three seasons of the BAFTA-nominated and award-winning show.
Netflix confirmed the show had been renewed for a fourth season, however when Ashley was asked by Vernon Kay on the morning talk show if she would be reprising her role she said: ‘No.’
She added: ‘I get asked that all the time. No, I’m a Bridgerton girl now.’
Season four of Sex Education previously got the go ahead back in September 2021, but isn’t expected to hit the streaming site until 2023 after the show’s leading man, Asa Butterfield, told Digital Spy production hasn’t even started on the next season of the show yet.
He told the publication: We haven’t started filming yet. But we are planning to start filming soonish. And that’s about all I can say.’

However, with this admission it does add more confirmation to Ashley reprising her role as Kate Sharma – or rather, the Vicountess Bridgerton – in the upcoming highly-anticipated series.
In a previous interview with Ashley and her co-star Johnathan Bailey, who plays Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, the pair subtly confirmed they wouldn’t be doing as Regé-Jean Page did before them and stepping away from the series – but would in fact be back for season three.
But in the This Morning interview she fully confirmed Kate’s presence in the Ton when she said: ‘She’s the head of the household now, she’s the Viscountess and married to Anthony and it’s a year later at this point, so I’m very excited.’
In her previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter she said: ‘She’s going to be Viscountess, so I’m super-excited to continue the story.’
