St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect opportunity to brighten up your March. And what better way to celebrate than with a festive cocktail? You may not have any green drinks in your repertoire, but they can be as delicious as they are vibrant. So here are some of the best St Patrick’s Day cocktail recipes to make, whether you’re planning a small laid-back event or an all out party.

Mint Julep

  • 5 sprigs of mint
  • 2 oz Bourbon whiskey
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • Dash of bitters
  • Ice

While it’s often associated with horse racing, there’s no reason this refreshing drink can’t be used to celebrate St. Patrick’s day, too. It’s easy to make, with a simple yet delicious flavour profile. To make a Mint Julep, pour your Bourbon, syrup, and bitters into a shaker and add the mint. Shake, and then strain into a glass filled with crushed ice. Then, stir, top with more ice, and stir again.

Appletini

  • 3 1/2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz apple schnapps
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz apple juice
  • Green apple slices

For those who love a sour and sweet flavour profile, the Appletini is another great St Patrick’s day cocktail. Not only is it tart and tasty, but it also has a stunning green colour which is perfect for the occasion. To make an Appletini mix the vodka, schnapps, lemon juice and apple juice in a shaker and pour into martini glasses. Top with apple slices and serve.

Luck Of The Irish

  • 2 oz Irish whiskey
  • 1 oz peach schnapps
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • 2 oz lime soda
  • Green food colouring
  • Maraschino cherries

What could be more apt for a St Patrick’s Day cocktail than the Luck Of The Irish? This fruity drink is the perfect way to get a party started. Mix your whiskey, schnapps, and juice in a shaker along with 2 drops of food colouring. Then, pour into a glass and top with lime soda and a cherry.

Grasshopper

  • 1 oz Créme de Menthe
  • 1 oz Créme de Cacao
  • 2 oz Heavy cream
  • Nutmeg

The Grasshopper is a classic and time-tested cocktail. To make it, pour your Créme de Menthe, Créme de Cacao and heavy cream into a shaker and shake until chilled. Then, pour into a glass, and top with grated nutmeg.
