Any film by Baz Luhrmann is a spectacle in itself. Moulin Rouge is no exception. The show in the West End is just as spectacular! One of the most theatrical productions around, there are no expenses spared on the musical.
Moulin Rouge is the story of an America writer and singing sensation Satine. They fall in love, and try desperately to stay together. It has love, drama and plenty of show girls. What more could you want?
My Neighbour Totoro the Musical
The Barbican Theatre is hosting the world premiere of My Neighbour Totoro in the West End. The Royal Shakespeare Company have taken on the production. My Neighbour Totoro is a hit animated film from Studio Ghibli. The studio is based in Tokyo and they produce anime films. So how will they transfer it to the West End?
The RSC are using puppets to translate anime to the stage. They are working with Basil Twist and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is the mastermind behind The Muppets and Sesame Street. The West End production involves Joe Hisaishi, who is responsible for the original score for the film.
