The Best Recipes For A Summer BBQ

Add as preferred source on Google

In the UK, the slightest bit of sun is reason enough to sit outside and enjoy a tasty dinner in your garden. A BBQ is the epitome of British summer, and these recipes will not disappoint on those warmer, and hopefully beautiful, sunny evenings.

Many of these recipes can be adapted to suit vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements, with meat being substituted for tofu, cheese, or a different assortments of vegetables.

Homemade Kebabs

These can be enjoyable to make, and also personalised to suit your favourite types of food. Some combinations that work well include marinated chicken. This can either be in BBQ, peri peri sauce, or anything that takes your fancy!

Cube the chicken, as well as red peppers and halloumi. Purchase some wooden sticks, and then alternate your kebab with these three ingredients to create a colourful and delicious dish.

Placing this on the BBQ until the peppers are charred and, of course, until the chicken is cooked through, will provide an easy and tasty dinner.

For the vegetarian and vegan options, replace the chicken with marinated tofu or cheese depending on your dietary requirement, also adding aubergine and tomatoes can really add to this dish!

As the kebabs start to cook, put some corn on the cob alongside them, as this will add to this tasty dish and compliment it perfectly. Kebabs are easy to make, easy to personalise, and are cheap yet filling.

Sides and Salads

Adding different sides to your BBQ will ensure you have a plate full of your favourite dishes as you soak up the sun.

Some of my favourites include a potato salad, a grain bowl, and a Tricolour salad. These are some of the tastiest and most filling sides you can add to your BBQ.

A potato salad is easy, you just boil your new potatoes until cooked, cube them up, add chopped chives and onions, and mix through with plenty of mayonnaise and parsley. Place in the fridge, as the colder the better, then enjoy for your dinner.

A grain bowl is easy, cheap, and tasty to create for you and for guests too. Using rice, walnuts, peas, and chopped broccoli, you can create a summer grain bowl that is full of flavour and vegetables. You can even add chopped peppers to this dish or make further variations to this dish with your favourite foods. This light and cold side will be both refreshing an filling. This can quickly become your go-to meal throughout summer.

Finally, a tricolour salad is a staple refreshing dish and is the easiest to make. Simply slice up large tomatoes, avocado, and buffalo mozzarella, and top with basil, oil, and salt. This simple dish is one of the tastiest and defiantly is a great addition to a BBQ on a hot evening.
