Themed Nights To Have With Your Flatmates

Bonding with your flatmates can be hard work! Things can be super awkward once you first move in, with everyone struggling to make the first move and start chatting. Throwing designated themed nights can be a great way of socialising with each other, forcing everyone to stay in the same room (even if it is only for an hour!) Here are some ideas to get the ball rolling!

Movie Mondays

Movie night Mondays are great as they allow you to all sit together without feeling any pressure to talk for hours. Just sit and watch a film together and then, if you’re feeling brave enough, share your thoughts on the movie afterwards. You could keep this up every week, all taking it in turns to pick out a film. You’ll be bonding in no time.

Taco Tuesdays

Tacos are pretty easy to make and are great if you’re cooking for a group of you. On Taco Tuesdays, you can all bond whilst cooking the meal together and then chat as you tuck in. Getting everyone involved in cooking dinner is a great way of getting to know each other and allows everyone to feel involved.

Watch Party Wednesdays

You don’t even need to leave your room for this one if you don’t want to. Why not set up a tele party or gather around a TV and watch a TV programme together. I find that Bake Off is usually a good one to start with. Who doesn’t love watching the Great British Bake Off?

Tipsy Thursdays

Fancy having a few drinks with your flatmates? Why not have a cocktail night in the kitchen? You can all make your favourite drinks and have a little natter. This is also a great idea if you want to dedicate one night to drinking in the flat. If you want to monitor the number of loud drinking parties in your flat, then picking one day where everyone knows it won’t upset anyone if they get a little tipsy is a good idea.

Fancy Dress Fridays

You don’t need to have an occasion to sport your best fancy dress outfits when you’re at uni. Your excuse for dressing up like Tinkerbelle can simply be ‘It’s Fancy Dress Friday!’ Choosing a fancy dress theme each week and having a little photo shoot or party is a fun way of showing your flatmates that your a team! You’ll have so much fun!

Sit and Sip Saturdays

Pour some of your favourite drink into a glass and sit down on the sofa. Have a little chat about Uni life, your studies, your day… the weather. Just keep things chill. You don’t have to spend loads of money to have fun! Sit and Sip Sundays are such a good way of just enjoying each other’s companies.

Sing Sundays

Sing Sundays are all about karaoke! Students love a little sing songs, with or without the alcohol. Blast some Taylor Swift on the speakers and enjoy letting your hair down. It’s all a bit of fun but will help you feel comfortable around each other and have a laugh.
