“When You Wish Upon A Star” has become the staple Disney company song. Every single time you watch a Disney film, you hear the acoustics of this iconic tune as Cinderella’s stunning castle beams. This song was written all the way back in 1939 for the film, Pinocchio, so it has done very well to stand the test of time.
In 2004, the American Film Institute released their “100 Greatest Songs in Film History”. Amazingly, “When You Wish Upon A Star” was the highest ranked Disney song out of only four to appear on the coveted list.

4. Be Our Guest (Beauty and the Beast)

3. It’s a Small World (After All), (It’s a Small World)
This tune was brought to us by the genius minds of the Sherman brothers specifically for the ride of the same name. The task of creating a long-lasting, catchy tune that will stand the test of time and appeal to both adults and children alike, sounds like a tough ask, but not for the Sherman brothers. To make things even more impressive, they wrote this song in the same year as they were writing for Mary Poppins.
Billboard labels this song as “among the most infectious compositions of the entire 20th century”.
2. Let It Go (Frozen)
There cannot be a human on this planet who has not heard this tune. For some time after the release of Frozen, you could not go outside without hearing Elsa’s belting song. Due to this, many people have taken a disliking to “Let It Go”, but if you only hate it because it is so popular, then do you really hate it at all?
Idina Menzel is a fierce vocalist who is no stranger to strong, loud, belters of a song, so it is no surprise that she knocked it out of the park once more with this classic.
1. Part Of Your World, (The Little Mermaid)
The Little Mermaid is another timeless classic film, proven in the new live action adaptation. Ariel’s power ballad “Part Of Your World” is one reason why this film has stood the test of time, as yearning and longing to be seen and valued is something that many people are still fighting for.
Billboard writes, “amidst a cultural climate where personal freedoms are being systematically stripped from so many bright young women and countless other folks who are very much sick of swimming, ready to stand.”
