Moving to university in September? Packing and moving can be a huge task and you will need a lot of things to move out and live independently for the first time.
We have put together the ultimate packing list for moving into the halls, including everything you will need for your bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. It will stop any stress and avoid the first-day panic shopping trip, trust us.
Bedroom:
- Duvet and pillows – be sure to check the sizing of your accommodation bed.
- Sheet, duvet and pillow covers.
- Mattress topper (thank us later, accommodation beds are notoriously uncomfortable).

- Desk lamp – ensure that your accommodation doesn’t provide one first.
- Laundry basket – one with handles is always best as often laundry will be outside of your building.
- Clothes horse.
- Clothes, bags and shoes.
- Laptop.
- Laptop and phone chargers.
- Desktop mirror.
- Small speaker – an essential at pre-drinks.
