Launching its second event since being put on pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic, West End Live is coming back with a bang!
A two-day event, West End Live is the theatre event of the year. All of the current West End shows come together to perform a mashup of their most iconic songs.
When is it?
West End Live 2022 will be held on Saturday the 25 and Sunday 26 June.
Where will it be?
Held in the beautiful Trafalgar Square, this year’s WEL is a completely free event that will take over the space outside of the National Gallery.
Lineup
This year, WEL is giving us the return of some of its old favourites such as Come From Away, Hamilton and Heathers.
The joyous return of Mamma Mia and Six will get everyone on their feet, hopefully with some glorious Greek-style weather to match!
Co-writer and co-director of Six, Lucy Moss is bringing all of the nostalgia to the stage with Legally Blonde, directed by Moss herself, currently performing at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
Other shows include: Dear Evan Hansen (which has recently announced its West End closure on October 22nd of this year); Pretty Woman The Musical; Matilda The Musical (soon to be a movie-musical starring Emma Thompson!); Jersey Boys; Frozen and Les Misérables.

Train Cancellations
With many hoping to travel via the train to this year’s West End Live, it’s super important to check whether the trains are running in advance, due to the current strikes.
As yet, Saturday is the only confirmed strike day, so alternative means of transport will have to be found. However, although Sunday is a non-strike day, Saturday night maintenance won’t be carried out and might roll the disruption over into Sunday. This knock-on effect is likely to have an impact on rain travel on Sunday too.
