After coming out earlier this year, Rebel Wilson has now announced the birth of her first child with her partner Ramona Agruma. The couple both posted pictures and videos of their baby shower on Instagram some weeks ago.
Who Is Rebel Wilson?
Rebel Wilson is an Australian actress best known for her comedic roles in Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids. She won two MTV Movie Awards for her role as Fat Amy in the 2012 film Pitch Perfect.
In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Wilson underwent a major weight loss, calling it her “year of health”.
On 9 June 2022, Wilson posted an Instagram post captioned “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess #loveislove”
The actress’s coming out post was widely well-received. However, it was revealed that she only posted it as she was going to be outed.
A journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald was going wrote a now deleted article which detailed Wilson’s relationship with Agruma. Wilson told The Guardian that there were “some people we didn’t get a chance to tell before it came out publicly. And that’s not ideal.”
What Is Rebel’s Child Called?
Wilson announced the birth of her first daughter via surrogate through an Instagram post on Monday 7 November 2022.
She captioned it “Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate.”
She added “I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved… particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care.”
When talking exclusively with PEOPLE, Wilson said that her partner Ramona Agruma planned their baby shower with close friends, going “above and beyond to make it a special day.”
She added, “It was the most gorgeous baby shower with friends from around the world… [Agruma] is so amazing and such a great partner.”
