What Is Delusion Week?

Delusion week was originated by TikToker @erin_horne, and quickly caught on with many other creators sharing their versions. The basic idea is that you think of how the best version of yourself would spend their time, and then gaslight or delude yourself into thinking you are that person. It’s basically fake it until you make it, applied to time management, organisation and lifestyle. In other words, if your ideal self would level up their skincare, go to the gym regularly and get up at 6 in the morning, then this trend is a way of accessing those benefits.

How To Do Delusion Week?

If you want to try delusion week for yourself, start by coming up with a list of aspirational daily accomplishments. Think of what your best, highest self would do in a week, and write down what comes to mind. It can be helpful to envision that dream life in order to get closer to it. Once you have your list, divide it into what you can do every day for seven days. If you go in with the mindset that you are the best version of yourself, it makes the process much easier.

What Is Toxic Productivity?

It is important with lifestyle trends, however, to avoid toxic productivity. Toxic productivity is basically a mindset where you need to be constantly productive in order to feel like you’re good enough. Trends like delusion week aren’t necessarily bad, and they can help you make positive changes that can improve your well-being. But it’s also important to remember that it’s okay to not be your best self all the time, and it’s okay to be unproductive and rest. After all, you’re a human, not a self-improvement project.

Some Great Examples

Here are some of the best examples of the delusion week trend. One of the most fun parts of the trend is how each person takes it and makes it their own.
