It only takes a few scrolls to get to someone going live on TikTok. Sometimes they’re streaming and to do that you’ll need the app’s own streaming software. But what is TikTok Live Studio and how do you use it?
Going live isn’t uncommon on TikTok, but some creators take it a step further and decide to stream games and other things using the feature. If you want to do that yourself, then you’ll need to do it from a desktop and you’ll need TikTok Live Studio.
What Is TikTok Live Studio?
TikTok Live Studio is software created by the app itself so that content creators can stream on TikTok. It’s very similar to YouTube studio in what it can do and how it works, but it is the only one that can be used on TikTok. Users can gain access to it by downloading it however it is only available on Windows at the moment.
TikTok launched the service in May with initial testing limited to some users. With the influx of streaming videos appearing on the For You page, it seems that more and more users are being given access to it.
Users can stream games, chat with viewers, and access live data. You can also filter the comment section so that the words you chose do not appear on the chat.
‘Scenes’ are what your users can see when you stream. You can add them and take them away pretty instantaneously. It means that you are in full control of your stream at all times.
How To Use TikTok Live Studio
If you’re eager to start using the streaming service, then here is how. First, you’ll need to download it to your windows desktop. Unfortunately, there is currently no version for macOS, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be in the future.
Once you’ve downloaded it, you’ll want to log in with the same details that you use for the standard TikTok app. You then have two options: import your settings from another streaming tool or select to start from scratch. Selecting the latter means you’ll be guided through the software step-by-step. This includes picking your sound configuration, integrated or external webcam, broadcast quality and lots more.
Once you’ve other imported your settings or feel comfortable with the TikTok Live Studio software, all that’s left to do is stream! At any point during your stream, you can pause, modify or stop streaming. To get started select ‘Broadcast LIVE!’ on the studio page, but just check everything is how you want it first.
When your stream begins, comments and notifications will appear in the right column, where you can also turn off gifts.
