It’s a much-loved feature on TikTok, so fans are pretty confused about how to see watch history as it’s supposedly disappeared. The list of your most recently watched videos was super helpful when you forgot to like a video and want to show it to friends, or just view it yourself again. Did TikTok Remove Watch History?
Although you can still view your previously viewed videos, the watch history feature as we know it was removed in 2022.
There’s no obvious reason why the feature was removed as it was something fans of the app used a lot. Watch history used to be found in settings and was hard to miss. Now, it’s a lot harder to find.
Where Is Watch History On TikTok?
Your watch history is still in your settings, but now it’s the privacy section.
According to Pathofex, go to the three lines in the top corner of your profile that take you to your settings. Scroll to the privacy tab and then click ‘personalisation and data. In there, you’ll be able to download your data onto your device, however, this does take 24 hours.
Once you’ve downloaded the files, there will be one called ‘Video Browsing History.’ In there will be all of your watch history videos, with a date and time attached to each one.
If you’re having trouble opening the files, then you may need to transfer them to your computer so you can watch them. However, this method should work for TikTok on your phone and PC.
You’re probably thinking that this is such a long-winded method for something that used to be really easy to access. That’s exactly right! Sure, you’ve learned how to see your watch history on TikTok now, but that doesn’t bring back what the feature was like before.
