BBC’s makeup talent contest, Glow Up, will air its final episode of the series this Wednesday, putting an end to eight weeks of sensational make-up looks.
This year’s contest has been the toughest yet which means that it is going to be super hard for judges Val and Dom to decide on a winner. But with a final masterclass to deliver, which of the final three has what it takes to win?

Kris
Kris has become known for providing the judges with big, big, BIG looks that provide the ultimate WOW factor. I mean, just look at his use of prosthetics to create this super colourful chameleon look.
I would have trouble sticking a prosthetic on, let alone blending the edges for a flawless finish like this. Kris certainly knows how to make looks that are out of this world with there being no denying how talented he is.
However, there have been a few evident flaws with his last couple of looks that have seen the judges call him out for his tendency to rush things and not execute the details to a high enough standard. Kris ended up in the face-off in the semi-final and just gained an edge over his competitor, Nancé, in creating a bold, black, oval-eye look that secured his place in the final.
Kris has the talent but will really need to focus on perfecting every little aspect of his makeup if he wishes to make it all of the way and win.
Yong-Chin
Yong-Chin has really come out of her shell in the last few weeks and has clearly developed throughout the process. Her background in fashion design has given her a great eye for detail and allowed her to really think through which makeup looks and colour palettes would compliment outfits.
She always creates looks that are extremely detailed and win many intricate lines whilst ensuring that everything is symmetrical. Yong-Chin has had a few weaker moments with some of her looks being a little too safe and in her comfort zone but as the contest has gone on she has really taken the judges’ comments on board.
After her look was chosen as a favourite in the Fashion Runway task it is certain that she can certainly work under pressure and do what she needs to win the final.
Lisa
Lisa has proved to be one talented teacher. The fact that she can produce amazing makeup looks after completely being self-taught and having a full-time job as a school teacher is mind-blowing in itself.
Her looks are always guaranteed to be amazing and I mean let’s all just think about how hard that calligraphy must have been to do in the semi-final.
Lisa really has created a variety of masterpieces during her time on the show, with a real skill for delicacy and elegant brushwork. She just has to be careful to not be so obvious in what her artwork is trying to convey and avoid making her work one-dimensional.
Something tells me she could easily win as the strongest competitor, with the upcoming makeup masterclass being something that she really thrives on… after all, she’s used to teaching people how to do things every day.
