It’s not a fantastic time for the Fantastic Beasts star Ezra Miller as they have been arrested for harassment and disorderly conduct according to a report from the Hawaii Police Department.
The 29-year-old was arrested after an incident at a bar in Honolulu, on Sunday night, after they allegedly ‘became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke’, according to police.
Who is Ezra Miller?
The American actor and singer, who identifies as non-binary, rose to fame for their role as DC Comic book superhero The Flash aka Barry Allen in the Justice League alongside Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ben Afleck, and Jason Momoa, in 2017.
But before this Miller made their debut in Antonio Campos’ 2008 drama film Afterschool and proceeded to appear in the award-winning black comedy drama film Another Happy Day. Miller then appeared alongside Emma Watson in the movie, The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Fans of the Harry Potter Universe will know the actor for their role as Credence Barebone in the Fantastic Beats series of movies – the next of which, Fantastic Beasts: The The Secrets of Dumbledore, is due to hit cinemas on April 8
Miller’s Brush With The Law
According to reports Miller, who was visiting from Vermont, was arrested after an incident in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Sunday night, when the actor ‘began yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke…and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts.’
The actor was arrested and charged, but released after paying his $500 bail (£380).
Addressing the arrest, the Hawaii Police Department wrote in a report: ‘Shortly after midnight on Monday, March 28, 2022, a 29-year-old visiting from Vermont was arrested and charged for disorderly conduct and harassment after an incident at a bar in Hilo.
‘On Sunday, March 27, at 11:30 p.m., South Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of disorderly patron at a bar on Silva Street. During the course of their investigation, police determined that the [person], later identified as Ezra Miller, became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke.
‘Miller began yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke (disorderly conduct offense) and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts (harassment offense). The bar owner asked Miller to calm down several times to no avail.’
