After Brendon Urie that Panic at the Disco were disbanding earlier this week, fans were quick to comment that he was the only member left. Now the pop-rock group is officially over, it’s time to look at what happened to the original Panic at the Disco members, Ryan Ross and Spencer Smith.

Brendon Urie officially ended Panic at the Disco, which started in 2004, earlier this week in a statement. As the last standing member, let alone the original member, fans have been wondering what happened to all the members of the band over the years.

What Happened To The Original Panic at the Disco Members?

Brendon formed the band with Ryan Ross and Spencer Smith and Brent Wilson after the four attended school together. Brent left after releasing and touring with their first album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out and was replaced by Jon Walker.

After releasing their second album, Pretty Odd, both Ryan Ross and Jon Walker left the band after creative differences with Urie and Smith. They then acquired bassist Dallon Weekes after a brief period as a Duo. The three of them released Panic at the Disco’s third album, Vice & Virtues and their fourth album Too Weird To Live Too Rare To die in 2013. Spencer left the band shortly after, with Weekes leaving in 2015.

The band then became a solo project for Brendon Urie.

What Happened To Ryan Ross?

Upon Ryan Ross’ and John Walker’s departure, the duo formed a new band, Young Veins in 2009. They released their first album, Take a Vacation in the same year and acquired 3 additional members. The band then went on a hiatus at the end of 2010, releasing a deluxe version of their album in 2019.

After a couple of years away from music, Ryan Ross pursued a solo project, and released a two-track untitled EP. A few years later, he collaborated with Z Berg on The Bad List, a Christmas Song.

Ross revealed to Alternative Press that he would be in the studio and experimenting with songwriting after the release of The Bad List.

Since then, nothing else has been seen or heard of Ryan.

What Happened To Spencer Smith?

The last original Panic at the Disco member to leave before Urie, Spencer Smith now works as a booker with Pete Wentz’s at DCD2 Records. In his personal life, the former drummer has got married and shares some of his daily antics on Instagram.

Though he hasn’t posted in some time, Smith has kept fans up to date with big things in his life. No longer part of the band, it’s nice to see that he is keeping in touch with music in another way.

What About Other Panic at the Disco Members?

The Panic at the Disco members have changed somewhat over the years, but it’s worth knowing what happened to other notable members.

Jon Walker: Since Young Veins’ hiatus, the former bassist of Panic at the Disco has gone to multiple solo projects. Since 2011, Walker has released 7 EPs and LPs. He has also released two singles, Push Comes To Shove and The Way It Was. He also composed the score for the short film, Intermission.

Dallon Weekes: Dallon was a Panic at The Disco member from 2009-2015, though this wasn’t confirmed until 2012. A year after his departure, Dallon formed I Don’t Know How The Found Me with The Brobecks member Ryan Seamen. After signing to Fearless Records in 2018, they released their first album Razzmatazz in 2020.

In his personal life, Dallon is married to Breezy Douglas and they have two children together.

It’s been a rocky road for Panic at the Disco, but it seems that it’s all over. It’s great to see that lots of the original members have stuck with music!
