Sometimes we do so much celebrating at Christmas that by the time the New Year’s Eve rolls around it’s hard to know what to do for the holiday. It’s a fresh start and a great day to do something memorable, even if it’s something small or simple. So whether you want to party it up or ring in the new year quietly at home, here are some of the best ways for students to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

Wear Something Sparkly

We could all use a little more sparkle in our lives. New Year’s Eve is the perfect occasion to break out your most glittery, sparkly or shimmery clothes. If you don’t have any, perhaps this is your opportunity to treat yourself to a new outfit. It’s a great way to light up a room (literally) and put a smile on your face.

Make a Charcuterie Board

Charcuterie boards are the perfect appetiser. They’re super easy to make but look very high effort and fancy. If you’re hosting a get together this New Year’s Eve, it’s a great way to get the party started. Even if you’re not, why not put together a board anyway? All the more for you.

Write Some Resolutions

Resolutions can feel a bit pointless sometimes. After all, how many times have we all made resolutions only to forget about them a few weeks (or days) later? However, it’s still a good practice to set goals for yourself and reflect on how you want the next year to go. So try writing some resolutions that are simple, actionable and flexible.

Play Board Games

A great way to spend some time with friends this New Year’s Eve is to break out a board game or two. You can opt for classics like Clue, Monopoly or Uno, or try something new. It’s a great activity for a small or medium sized group, and it can be as high-stakes or as casual as you like.

Compile Your Photos From The Last Year

A lot of us take photos throughout the year but never get around to doing anything with them. Why not compile the best photos of the year and relive some of your favourite memories? You can create a simple album on your smartphone, print the photos out to make a physical album, hang up on the wall, or make a scrapbook.
