Christmas Films That Deserve A Sequel

Add as preferred source on Google

It has recently been rumoured that our favourite 2006 Christmas film, The Holiday, is getting a second instalment. While we would love this to be true, it is just a rumour at this point and we know that things like this are usually too good to be true. However, this has got us thinking about other amazing Christmas films that rightfully deserve a sequel.

Elf (2003)

Elf is one of the classic Christmas films we rewatch every year. It’s just that good!

After finding out that Papa Elf isn’t his biological father, Buddy the elf takes a chaotic trip to New York to be with his ‘real’ family. He tries to adjust to civilian life but struggles.

In the end, it is said that Buddy visits Papa Elf from time to time, which must mean that he stayed back in New York.

Fans of this film would love to see what else Buddy has learnt about life as a ‘normal’ person in New York and, who knows, maybe Jovie is still in his life.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a cross-section of Christmas and Halloween, giving us a perfect holiday film.

Our favourite Jack Skellington manages to make his dreams of celebrating Christmas in Christmas Town come true, but what about all the other holidays?

There has to be some room to see Jack Skellington on Valentine’s Day or during the New Year, right?

Well, it seems as though this story is over before it’s begun, as Tim Burton has already announced that he his against a Nightmare Before Christmas sequel.

The Polar Express (2004)

This beloved Christmas film is perfect for children and adults alike. It sees a young boy take the trip of a lifetime to the North Pole via The Polar Express. He meets all kinds of people along the way which affect his trip in many different ways.

Coming from the director of the Back To The Future films, Robert Zemeckis, it is no surprise that this movie is so brilliant.

However, it has been almost 20 years since we boarded The Polar Express and so many people would like to see where it could take us next.

A sequel could answer many of the unanswered questions we still have from the original film. Questions such as did the protagonist ever see his newfound friends again? Oh, and also, what was the main character’s name?
