Every student knows that the best way to cut costs on a night out is to have a drink (or a few) before you leave. But your pres don’t have to be shots or beers. If you’re feeling like something a little fancier, start off the night the right way with these delicious drinks you can make for you and your friends. Here are some easy drink recipes for your pres.

Gin and Tonic

What could be more refreshing than a classic G&T? For extra points, you can chill the glasses in the freezer before you make them. Then, measure out 2oz of gin and 6oz of tonic water or soda water. Garnish with a slice of lime and you’ve got the perfect drink to get the party started.

Peach Bellini

For those who favour a sweet and fruity cocktail, look no further than the Peach Bellini for your pres. With only two ingredients, it’s about as simple as it gets. Just mix one part peach juice or sorbet (or any other fruit flavour of your choice) with two parts champagne. Give it a stir, and you’re done. The advantage of using a sorbet is that it will chill the drink even if you haven’t refrigerated the bubbly ahead of time. Handy, right?

Tequila Sunrise

The Tequila Sunrise is as nice to look at as it is to drink. Mix 2oz of tequila with 5oz of orange juice and top with a maraschino cherry. Add a dash of the cherry juice, and the drink will have a gradient with lovely layers of red and orange, hence the name. It’s very impressive looking, considering how easy it is to make.

Lemon Drop

If citrus is your thing, then the lemon drop is the cocktail for you. Start by wetting the rims of your glasses and dipping them in sugar. Than add 1 part lemon juice and 1 part triple sec to 2 parts vodka. It’s super easy, and the perfect mixture of sweet and sour.

Greyhound

The greyhound is equal parts sweet and tart. While grapefruit isn’t normally a go-to citrus flavour for most people, its unique flavour profile mixes beautifully with the alcohol and makes this drink a standout. Simply mix one part gin or vodka with two parts grapefruit juice. Garnish with a slice of lemon or lime, and you’re set.

These are just a few of the easy drink recipes for your pres but we think they will make those vital early hours even better.
