Sharing your favourite videos with your followers or friends is all part of the fun of TikTok. However, some users have been a little confused about how to repost a TikTok on their feed.
We’ve all downloaded TikToks to share, or scrolled back endlessly trying to find one we wanted to show a friend. Now, after trialing the feature at the start of this year, all users can repost their favourite videos.
How Does Reposting on TikTok work?
Reposting on TikTok works very similarly to retweeting. Simply repost the video that you’re newly obsessed with and it will appear on your followers’ feeds as if you had posted it yourself.

Before this feature, users could only duet videos. This meant they had to post a video of their own alongside the video, splitting the screen in half. Now, you can have your own library of your favourite videos readily available to show your friends. Be prepared to be the go-to funny TikTok person in your friend group.
It’s also a great way to support your favourite creators without having to get physically involved yourself. Reposting means increasing their views and popularity so that they can get full credit. No more awkward duets just to show off a video.
How Do You Repost on TikTok?
Reposting a TikTok couldn’t be easier but, remember, you can only repost videos from your For You page.
Simply find the video you want to repost and click the share button. Now, a repost button should be the first option on the pop-up. The button’s icon looks exactly the same as Twitter’s retweet icon, so there’s no missing it.
You will then be notified that the video will be visible to those who follow you and also to people that you may know. All that means is that linked contacts who don’t follow you or followers of followers may also see the video.
Then, you’ll be asked if you want to add a comment to the repost. This is just like quote tweeting and allows you to share your own thoughts or reactions without making a video.
After that, select the red arrow on the right-hand side and hey presto, the video is reposted.
Some users are finding that reposting still isn’t a feature for them. Make sure that you have the latest version of the app and that you have allowed reposting on your TikTok privacy settings
How To Undo A Repost
Accidentally repost the wrong video, or decide that, actually, it wasn’t *that* funny? No problem, undoing a repost is even easier than reposting it.
Select the video you want to repost, select share again and click ‘undo repost.’ All done — now no one will know about your social faux pas and you can keep the secret to yourself.
