How To Add Music And Songs To Instagram Notes After New Update

Add as preferred source on Google

After a recent update means the music feature is available to all on the app, here’s how to add songs to Instagram notes to show off your exquisite music taste.

Instagram users around the world will now be able to share their favourite tunes or whatever their listening to on the app. Now, it’s not just Instagram Stories that can have music, as Instagram Notes now lets you add music too.

Instagram Announce New Update Rolling Out The Feature

Ever since it launched last year, Notes has revolutionised how people are using the app. We’ve already given you some hilarious Instagram Notes ideas, but now you’ll need some music ideas too.

Yes, that’s right. The picture-sharing app has now brought your tunes to the new feature. Taking to Twitter, Instagram said:

“Music = mood.”

“You can share your current vibe by adding a song to your Note. Rolling out, starting today.”

It had been available to some users around the world, but now anyone with an account can use it. If you were stuck about how to use Notes before, now you can always be sharing what you’re listening to or your fave new song.

Some were definitely excited about the latest update…

“Woohoo!”

“That sounds very cool! I’m looking forward to using it,” another said.

However, many took the opportunity to complain about issues the popular social media has been having over the last few days.

“Chats are down since hours ago,” one reported.

“Your App is down Please fix it for us,” another complained, having issues with the whole app.

Some are still having trouble accessing regular Instagram Notes, so really need that before being able to add music.

How To Add Music And Songs To Instagram Notes

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to add the whole track. As Notes are like smaller updates, the songs you add can only be 30-second snippets.

However, you can still use the 60-character limit as well, so you can type out lyrics or give friends your brief thoughts on your selected tune.

Adding music is simple. Just go to the feature and click the plus icon as you would for a normal note. Now, you should see a music icon at the bottom of your profile picture.

All you have to do is tap that which will bring up the music menu. Search for any song and, if it’s in the Instagram catalogue, you can add it as a musical note!

You can search the specific song, or even the artists if you’re not sure which song to pick. Finally, use the rainbow-coloured bar to select which 30 seconds you want to showcase.

Once you’re happy with your choice, just share it with your friends!

Music On Instagram Notes Not Working?

To get the feature, make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the app.

You’ll also want to delete any old caches so that an older version of Instagram isn’t running by mistake.

Plus, there’s the good ol’ delete and reinstall which should fix any small bugs.

The feature was only added yesterday, so you may need to give the Instagram update a little bit of time to work properly for everyone.
