How To Enjoy The Small Moments Before Leaving University

As the end of term creeps closer, people start to panic that they are running out of time. Wanting to capture every moment, and remember every fun experience, is a feeling that everybody shares. However, enjoying the small moments university has to offer is just as important, although they may be easier to forget in the long run.

Just enjoying the day-to-day living environment, or course life, is something that you want to hold onto. Look back and remember this time in your life where, even though you may have been stressed, you got through with the help of your friends and lecturers.

Here are some ways to make a note of the smaller everyday experiences that you don’t want to forget from university life.

Buy a disposable camera

By purchasing disposable cameras and leaving them either in your bag, or around your house, you can take relaxed and candid snapshots of your everyday experiences. This could be something just as simple as having dinner together or watching a film.

This can ensure that you remember the fun side of normality, getting your pictures printed and then seeing how they turned out is a fun side of this tip!

You could even get some final group class photos, or a picture with your favourite lecturer.

Having this camera, instead of just using your phone, will remind you to take pleasure in the little things that you wish to document.

Make a list of traditions

Whether you realise it or not, throughout your years at university you would have made little traditions or daily routines with your household.

This could just be as simple as all cooking at the same time, sitting in your specific seats in the living room, or all doing a certain activity together.

It is only when you will no longer live together, or be out of these routines, that you will look back and think how subconsciously you had all merged into each other’s patterns.

To ensure you don’t forget these routines, or how you hopefully lived well with your house mates, you should write a list of traditions. This could include a family dinner, a meal in a restaurant, a games night, a movie marathon, or a specifically themed evening that you have done throughout the years.

This leads me on to my next tip.

Dedicating time to an everyday routine

This is similar to the tip above, as it is simply dedicating time to be in with your house mates or your course friends.

This time that you have left will start to slip away very quickly, and you don’t want to have gone for your last lecture, coffee, or movie night without making note of it, and perhaps making it a bit more special than usual.

Enjoying the everyday with each other is something that will sadly end. But you can look back with fond memories and dedicate time to ensuring you make note of your fun experiences all together.

Small moments university students often take for granted can actually make for wonderful memories.
