The constant feed of comments and emojis can distract from the live that you’re watching. Plus, sometimes you’re just not in the mood to read the comments. So here is how to hide the chat on TikTok Live, so that you can watch your favourite streams without the extra visual noise.

How To Get Rid Of The TikTok Live Chat
There are a few different ways to hide the chat on TikTok Live. One method is to tap the share button on the Live, which is marked by an arrow. Then, select ‘clear display.’ This should arrange the layout so you only see the livestream, and any extraneous features, including the chat, will disappear.
If this doesn’t work, another method is to tap and hold for a few seconds. When you do this, a window will pop up. From this window, select ‘clear display.’ Once you do this, you will no longer see chat messages from other viewers.
Finally, you can also swipe the chat away. To do this, start from the left side and swipe right. You will see the chat window move alongside your finger and when you release it to the right, it will disappear. If you want to replace the chat box, you can simply do the opposite maneuver and swipe right to left to put it back in its original position.
How To Request To Join A Live
Sometimes, if you’re particularly enjoying a livestream, or if it’s hosted by someone you know, you may want to join yourself. Joining a live allows you to participate in a splitscreen format and chat or play games. However, to join a live, you’ll need permission from the person who’s already on the stream. To do so, go to the comments section and select the icon with two smiley faces. Once you tap this, the request will be sent and the other person can let you in.
