How To Use The TikTok Old Age Capcut Filter Effect

Add as preferred source on Google

When used correctly, filters can be a lot of fun. There are hundreds of them out there and we’ve definitely tried a lot of them. Now, another one is taking over the internet as we all time travel to the future. Here’s how to use the TikTok old age filter using the capcut effect as well as some great examples of the trend.

We were all obsessed with the teenage filter on TikTok a couple of months back, but now we’re all looking a little older and wiser. Using the TikTok old age filter with a few capcut effects thrown in, everyone is turning the time and seeing what they would look like in a few decades time. Looking scarily realistic, we tell you how to do it and give you some great examples for inspiration.

What Is The Trend?

Simply, the trend is people using a current or older photo of themselves, before it transforms into showing them older using the TikTok old age filter.

Typically, the TikTok videos begin with the person or couple looking ‘young’ before the effect moves across the screen and slowly makes them look decades older.

Incredibly popular, the hashtag #oldagefilter has a huge 24.6 million views on the app, with thousands of videos attached to it. Though some have used a slightly different filter, most have used the one that’s currently trending along with the ‘Forever Young’ song.

Often, these filters can look a bit unrealistic, but this one really looks like a glimpse into the future.

How To Use The Old Age Filter With Capcut Effect

The most popular filter people have used to get involved with the trend isn’t actually on TikTok. Instead, for the best results you’ll want to download FaceApp to use the correct filter. There are versions of the filter elsewhere, but this is the one that has everyone obsessed.

Once downloaded, you’ll want to find the ‘face’ feature and then the ‘cool age’ filter. You can either upload a photo or take one through the app to use. Eitherway, you’ll then see your young face transform into an older version of yourself. What’s really important is that you have the exact same photo to use without the TikTok old age filter for the trend to really work.

Now you’ve got your images, it’s time to put them together.

Go back to TikTok to use the Capcut template, or use the Capcut app if you would rather. To create the great edit taking over the internet, just upload your ‘old’ image’ first and then your ‘young/normal’ image. You’ll then want the to old image to slowly take over the screen, coming from one side as it slowly transforms the photo.

To make life even easier, just find a video that’s already used the template and click ‘use template’ to be immediately taken to the edit.

It’s crazy how realistic the old age filter is. No one everyone wants to get involved.

Using a different song, many couples are using the old age trend to see what they’ll look like after growing old together.

If we age as gracefully as the filter suggests, then there are no issues getting older here!
