Actress and singer Miley Cyrus was a staple in many of our childhoods, so it seems ridiculous that she just celebrated her 30th birthday! In celebration of this milestone, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and remember some of Miley Cyrus’s best films.
Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009)
Miley Cyrus originated the role of Hannah Montana in 2006 on the Disney Channel show of the same name. Three years into the TV show, a film was made. The character of Hannah Montana is what Cyrus is most known for, so it is only right that we explore the movie.
The film follows pop sensation Hannah Montana whose fame threatens to take over her life. So, she is sent back home to Tennessee and what she finds is much more than an old village and past memories.
Hannah Montana: The Movie came in the number one spot in theatres during its opening week.

The Last Song (2010)
The Last Song was one of Cyrus’s first films away from the role of Hannah Montana.
She plays Ronnie Miller, a rebellious pianist who is forced to spend her summer with her estranged father. Reluctantly, she goes and ends up meeting Will Blakelee, a beach volleyball player who wants to get to a top university.
Australian actor Liam Hemsworth played Will. This is where the pair first met, and ultimately their on-screen relationship blossomed off-screen too.
They couple were first engaged between 2012-2013. After an off-again on-again relationship, the couple married in 2018. However, they separated in 2020.
Bolt (2008)
This was Cyrus’s first attempt at an animated role and it is a firm Disney favourite.
She voices Penny, the owner of a TV dog called Bolt. However, when Bolt is accidentally shipped to the mean streets of New York, he begins to realise that his “superpowers” that are shown on screen are not something that he actually possesses. Bolt, voiced by John Travolta, then has to try to find Penny and stay away from danger.
Cyrus co-wrote a song for this film with producer Jeffrey Steele. “I Thought I Lost You” is performed by both Cyrus and Travolta.
So Undercover (2012)
In another role away from Hannah Montana, Cyrus plays Molly Morris turned Brooke Stonebridge in this action-comedy. So Undercover follows Cyrus as she is hired by an FBI agent to go undercover in a sorority to protect the daughter of a witness.
This was a star-studded cast including Jeremy Piven (Entourage), Megan Park (The Fallout), Alexis Knapp (Pitch Perfect) and even Kelly Osbourne.
Miley Cyrus’s best films are an eclectic mix and a deep dive back in may be smart as she celebrates her landmark birthday.
