If you’ve been to Cardiff before then you’ll know that there’s different energy on a Saturday night walking through the town. Happy people, cocktails flowing and smiles all around. But where have these people come from? Here are six of the best places to go in Cardiff for cocktails.
Dead Canary
At the top of the list is Dead Canary. Not sure what cocktail you fancy? They have it all. Tell the bar staff your favourite flavours and they’ll whip up the drink of dreams. They may be slightly on the expensive side, so save this for a birthday or celebration…or maybe you just went to all your lectures this week? Whatever it is, try the Dead Canary.
Tonight Josephine
New to Cardiff and known for its empowering, bold and sassy vibe. Bring your girls here and wear your best outfit because you’ll probably take a lot of photos – especially next to the iconic lit-up signs. A great place for a girls’ night and the best place for cocktails any day of the week – but remember to book in! This one gets booked up quickly.
The Alchemist
You may have been before and seen the cool cocktails with all the smoke and flames and it’s pretty fun not knowing which one you’re going to get. The Alchemist in Cardiff is a different kind of cocktail experience, and you’ll have a lot of fun there! Maybe take some of your home friends there when they visit you at Uni?

Dirty Martini
Dirty Martini is the place to go to feel sassy at the bar. Get yourself a dry martini and tune in to being the main character of the night. You might not like the taste, but you’ll undoubtedly feel cool. Or grab yourself a cocktail that actually tastes good, your choice.
Peppermint Bar
Fancy a pornstar martini tree? Peppermint is the place for you. Peppermint is the place to go for a few cocktails before the club. With music playing and drinks flowing you’ll probably end up having one too many – we’ve all been there.
Revolution
If you’re looking to go for cocktails and end up on a wild one, then Revolution might be the place for you and your crew. With loads of different flavoured shots to choose from when you’re too many cocktails deep, you can then dance the night away on the dancefloor later on in the night. It’s big enough for different music rooms so, if you’re not into R&B, you can enjoy the pop music in the same cocktail bar.
Cardiff has a place for everyone so, whether you’re looking for a chilled, sophisticated evening, or a wild, shots and regrets kind of night – you’ll find it here.
