It’s only recently started trending on TikTok, so it’s not surprising that everyone is still a bit confused. If you’ve seen it and want to play, but don’t understand the rules, then we have TikTok’s left party game explained for you.

What Is The Trend?

The hashtag has over 1.5 million views, so it seems like everbody wants to go to the left party, but they don’t know how to attend.

The videos are of two people or more, with at least one person knowing the rules to the game. The person starts by saying “I’m going to the left party and I’m bringing…” before naming an item. The next person then repeats what the first person said but saying a new item. The person who started it then says whether they can go to the left party or not.

The people who don’t know the rules aren’t told why that item can’t go to the left party, they just need to try again with a new item. The first person will keep saying items that can go to give the others clues, hoping that they figure out the rules of the game themselves.

The Left Party Game Explained

You must be playing with at least one other person and they cannot know the rules. The two of you need to be stood next to each other and facing the same direction. You then begin by saying “I’m going to the left party and bringing…” before naming something to the left of you both. The next player then takes a turn. In theory, the clueless player will keep guessing items that they can bring before hopefully figuring out the rules.

This is the main way to play the game, but some users have done it with their own rules. If you change the rules each time you play, the game is fresh and you can play with the same people, instead of finding people each time who don’t know the original rules.
