What Is The Movie About?
The trailer for The People We Hate At The Wedding was released on 19 October 2022 by Prime Video. It currently has 3.4 million views.
Based on a 2017 novel of the same name by Grant Ginder, this film follows siblings Alice and Paul who reluctantly attend their wealthy half-sister Eloise’s wedding in England.
During the week-long celebration, the siblings’ lies and secrets are exposed and they must face what they have been hiding. Donna, their mother, hopes her three children can reconnect and bond like they used to, but is this too much to ask?
The official synopsis for the film is:
‘A modern wedding comedy for anyone with a slightly dysfunctional family (everyone), or anyone who’s been forced to attend a wedding they tried to avoid (also everyone).’
It is set to air on Amazon Prime worldwide on 18 November 2022.

Who Is In The People We Hate At The Wedding?
Kristen Bell will play Alice, the most dysfunctional sibling in the trio. Bell is best known for voicing Anna in Frozen and playing Eleanor Shellstrop in The Good Place.
Playing Alice’s sibling, Paul is the actor, Broadway star and singer Ben Platt. He played Benny in the musical film Pitch Perfect and originated the title role in Dear Evan Hansen.
Finishing out the trio of sibilings is Cynthia Addai-Robinson. She is best kown for role as Naevia in Spartacus.
Academy Award winner Allison Janney is set to play the children’s mother. Her career spans some three decades in TV, film and stage.
Other cast members include Karan Soni (Deadpool), Dustin Milligan (Schitts Creek), Tony Goldwyn (Nixon), Isaach de Bankolé (Blank Panther), Jorma Taccone (SNL) and Julian Ovenden (Colonia).
The People We Hate At The Wedding is written by the Primetime Emmy Award winners, the Molyneux sisters, who are best known for writing Bob’s Burgers.
It is directed by Claire Scanlon who has mainly directed TV shows such as The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Fresh off the Boat.
