Over the years, TikTok has told its users plenty of things to do with themselves using various viral quizzes, tests and filters. Now, there are various flags giving you some relationship insight. One in particular, the beige flag on TikTok, is humbling many.
Red flags and green flags are pretty common terms when it comes to relationships, but now a couple of other colours have been added too because of TikTok. Unfortunately, neither of them are the best.
If you’re unfamiliar with relationship ‘flags’ are things that a person does that is either good or bad signs for a partner.
For example, taking time to see you each week = a green flag.
Expecting you to pay all the time without discussion = a red flag.
Now, there are more traits and scenarios being assigned to other colours on social media.
The Beige Flag TikTok Meaning
Beige flags are indicators that a person is pretty boring and that dating them wouldn’t be fun.
There’s nothing alarming about them, like a red flag, but it’s not necessarily a good thing either.
People with beige flags typically have a very generic dating profile and nothing that unique about them. They may boast about their need for caffeine, enjoying summer and have photos with other people’s pets. Yawn.
The above TikTok tells you just a little about the kind of things you should look out for. Hopefully, you don’t have any of them on your dating profile.
As we said, they aren’t anywhere near as bad as red flags, but you may want to look out for something a little more exciting.
Look Out For Pink Flags Too
Another flag colour that’s cropped up is a pink flag, but it’s not as good as it sounds.
Not quite as alarming as a red flag, pink flags are things that should be monitored. They’ll be minor issues which shouldn’t deter you completely, but maybe something you want to talk about or keep an eye on. Hence, the colour isn’t as strong as red.
A pink flag could be if they’re still in contact with their exes quite often. Not necessarily bad, but could head in that direction.
Something else might be their career choice, how much they’re into a sport, or maybe a habit that they have.
Some other examples might be that they’re not very tidy. Initially, that’s fine, but if you were to move in with them it would become more of a problem.
You should keep in mind that there is such a thing as too many pink flags. They are easier to ignore or tolerate than red, but if there are too many minor issues, then the relationship just won’t last.
Keep both the TikTok beige flag and pink flag meanings in your head when perusing dating apps from now on. They’re a great way of judging compatibility with someone who isn’t immediately a hard no.
