With the year drawing to a close, it means the holiday season is upon us. For some Spotify users, the greatest holiday treat of all is Spotify Wrapped. Avid music lovers look forward to Wrapped with great anticipation, and for good reason. It’s a chance to see a whole trove of data about your listening experience. You can see which songs, artists and genres defined your year, as well as how many minutes of music and podcasts you listened to, and more. Plus, Spotify makes you a playlist of your top songs. Not only do you get to see these results for yourself, but you can compare with friends and share your data across social media.
When Is Spotify Wrapped 2022 Released?
As has become the tradition for Wrapped, the 2022 iteration will be released in the first week of December. The data for your profile has already been collected, since the ‘year’ runs from January 1 to October 31 for Spotify. Spotify has posted a notice on their website which reads, ‘Wrapped is coming…Keep listening to what you love, and we’ll shout when it’s ready.’
So, unfortunately, there’s still a bit of a wait. If you’re already counting down the days, you wouldn’t be the only one. Spotify Wrapped has gained massive success since it was first implemented in 2016. It has been one of the platform’s strongest marketing strategies. Wrapped goes viral every time it comes out, with users jumping at the chance to share memes and get new music recommendations. The shareable nature of the data means that even those who don’t use Spotify see Wrapped across all of their social feeds – which might lead them to give it a try.
