When Is The Best Time To Post On TikTok?

Zoe Kramer November 24, 2022

The time of day when you post has a significant effect on how well a post performs on social media. TikTok will decide whether to favour your video on the algorithm based off of how it performs after it’s posted. This often has to do with peak times when the majority of users spend time on the app. So if you want a video to get engagement on TikTok, not only does the content matter, but also when you decide to release it. When is the best time to post on TikTok? Well, here is everything you need to know about timing your posts so they can do as well as they possibly can.

When Should You Post on TikTok?

There have been several studies on the best times of day to post on TikTok. According to one done by Influencer Marketing Hub, the following timetable is the best one to follow.

Monday: 06:00, 10:00, 22:00

Tuesday: 02:00, 04:00, 09:00

Wednesday: 07:00, 08:00, 23:00

Thursday: 09:00, 12:00, 19:00

Friday: 05:00, 13:00, 15:00

Saturday: 11:00, 19:00, 20:00

Sunday: 07:00, 08:00, 14:00

However, this study was conducted in Eastern Standard Time, so theoretically to reach the same audiences, you would have to adhere to the following timetable in GMT.

Monday: 11:00, 15:00, 03:00

Tuesday: 07:00, 09:00, 14:00

Wednesday: 12:00, 13:00, 04:00

Thursday: 14:00, 17:00, 00:00

Friday: 10:00, 18:00, 20:00

Saturday: 16:00, 00:00, 01:00

Sunday: 12:00, 13:00, 19:00

Using these guidelines may help you improve your engagement, however there is no one size fits all solution to hitting peak times. It may be useful to look at your own personal data to determine when your audience is most likely to be around.

If you’re willing to pay for a TikTok Pro account, you can access detailed analytics information from your settings. You will be able to view your ‘Top Territories,’ which will indicate which time zone to base your posting schedule around. You can also look at ‘Follower Activity,’ which will tell you what times of day your followers are most active. With these two pieces of information, you can easily draw up a posting schedule of your own.

Other Strategies

Beyond the time of day when you post, there are other factors you’ll want to be aware of if you want to get as much engagement as possible. You’ll also want to pay attention to how often you post. Ideally, post 1-3 times a day if you can. Try to get in a groove with a format that your audience enjoys, or you can even start a series.

Take a look at your most successful videos and replicate what made them work. Ultimately though, the most important thing is to have fun, because chances are if you’re enjoying making a video, your audience will be more likely to enjoy watching it. So don’t push yourself too much – it’s only a clock app, after all.
