What Is Mean Girls?
Mean Girls is a comedy teen film that was released in 2004. It quickly became a cult classic and, as with all good things, was turned into a musical. The Mean Girls musical was first performed in October 2017 and ran until January 2021. The show had 833 performances in total.
The original film cast included acting legends such as Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Tina Fey and Lindsay Lohan. It garnered $128 million at the global box office and is still referenced today.
The film follows new girl Cady (Lohan) as she tries to navigate the treacherous waters of high school. She ends up falling in with The Plastics, headed by the HBIC Regina George (McAdams).
It was announced in 2022 that Mean Girls The Musical is being made into a film.

Who Is In The Mean Girls Musical Cast?
The cast of the new movie musical has now been announced and we couldn’t be more excited.
Reneé Rapp is an actress and singer who is currently in the HBO comedy show The Sex Lives of College Girls. Rapp starred on Broadway as Regina George and will be reprising this role for the movie.
Cady, the role originally played by Lindsay Lohan, will be taken over by Angourie Rice. Rice is best known for her role in the MCU, appearing in the last three Spider-Man movies.
The power duo of Janis and Damien will be played by Auli’i Cravalho and Jaquel Spivey. Cravalho made her name by voicing the title character in the Disney animated film Moana.
Like Rapp, Spivey will be reprising his Broadway role of Damien.
Tina Fey, who wrote the book for the Broadway show, has written the script for the coming movie musical as well.
