Can You Watch The Oscars 2023 In The UK?
Yes, UK fans will be able to watch the 95 Academy Awards from their own homes. However, you’ll have to be prepared for a late night as it will be airing from 12 am to 3 am, so let’s hope you don’t have to work early the next morning.
The ceremony takes place in the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, beginning at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT. Because of the time difference, The Oscars 2023 will air early on Monday morning, with the ceremony itself set to begin around 1 am. As lots of people work Monday – Friday, you may want to seed the ‘illness’ this week. That way, calling in sick doesn’t sound suspicious.
How To Watch The Academy Awards In The UK
There are a couple of different ways that you can watch the awards across the pond.
The Oscars will be streamed on NOW TV. All of those already subscribed will be able to tune in on Sunday without any further hassle. More specifically, it is the NOW TV Entertainment and Cinema package that will have the ceremony, as well as red carpet action beforehand.
If you aren’t already subscribed, then you can get the Entertainment and Cinema bundle for £12 a month. However, included in that is a 7-day free trial. So, if you’re not completely sold on having another subscription service, you can start your trial and not have to pay a thing!
You don’t have to have both packages either. Individually, Cinema and Entertainment are £9.99 a month each. As both will be showing the Academy Awards, you’ll only need one to catch the event.
Is Sky Showing The Oscars 2023?
Yes, NOW TV is owned by Sky. If you are watching through the Entertainment package then you will be streaming the Sky Showcase version of the ceremony. If you are streaming the Cinema package then that will be through the Sky Cinema Oscars dedicated channel.
Those who aren’t subscribed to NOW will still be able to watch the Academy Awards. If you get your TV from Sky and have either the Showcase or Cinema packages, then you can watch that way. Showcase is available to customers at no extra cost, whereas Sky Cinema will cost £6.99 a month.
There are plenty of ways to watch The Oscars in the UK this weekend, even for free! If you’re a fan there’s no reason to miss out.
