Everyone likes the chance to win some money, but we don’t all want to be reminded of it all of the time. Unfortunately, that’s what’s happened since TikTok launched its new free trivia game to US fans yesterday. Putting people off, and confusing those outside of the states, we can offer some help to get unregistered from the trivia questions.
What Is The Trivia Questions Game?
From 22 -27 February, TikTok is giving its US users aged 18+ the chance the win a share of $500k by answering some questions.
The event, which will last five days, is presented by Lionsgate John Wick 4 and will be hosted by James Henry. Hosted on the official TikTok account, the event will be one through TikTok Lives. Registration for TikTok Trivia opened yesterday (February 16). You can get involved by clicking the widget on your For You page or going through the pop-up adverts.
The questions won’t just be about John Wick (though there will be some). Trivia will include beauty, lifestyle, sports, music and other general knowledge.
TikTok’s press release says that for the first three days of the game, there will be two rounds each day. This will start at 5 pm PT/8 pm EST, with the second beginning an hour later. Various content creators will join the TikTok live to show support and answer questions. Users will have to get all the trivia on TikTok right for a chance to win some of the money on offer.
TikTok trivia is completely free to sign up for. However, you must be over 18 and in the US to take part.
How To Get Rid Of TikTok Trivia
Possibly not getting the overwhelmingly positive response it was after, users already want to unregister from the event and are being plagued with TikTok trivia pop-ups.
Even after closing down the multiple pop-ups on their For You page, users are unable to get rid of the annoying adverts disrupting their experience.
There is a potential fix on how to get rid of the TikTok Trivia pop-up glitch. Some iPad users have found the ads would stay locked on their screens. On Reddit, a user suggested switching their iPad or other devices from landscape to portrait mode. This then allowed them to get rid of the advert.
There is also a way to get rid of the TikTok trivia pop-up notifications. Just head to your settings and toggle off ‘push notifications.’ This means you won’t be bombarded even when you’re not in the app.
If you’ve already registered for Trivia on TikTok, but have changed your mind, then you can easily get rid of it. Go to the trivia tab on the app, and head to settings. Then click ‘unregister’ which will mean you no longer want to participate. You can always change your mind again and re-register if you want a go at winning the cash.
Unfortunately, there is no way to turn off the pop-ups within the app. TikTok is going all out with advertisements for the new questions feature. Once you’re in the app, the only way to get rid of the pop-ups is to keep clicking off them. Hopefully, TikTok will release a fix soon for those completely uninterested who are annoyed by the constant ads.
