Whilst Rihanna definitely gave us a show to remember at the Super Bowl 2023, she wasn’t the only impressive one at the half-time show. No strangers to the massive gig, the Royal Family Dance Crew TikTok has gone viral after showing rehearsals for the performance. We take a look at who they are and what they’ve been up to.

Sure, lots of us tuned into the Super Bowl 2023 halftime show to watch Rihanna, but the dancers performing with her were just as good. Having performed at the football gig before, led by Parris Goebel, footage of them training has got everyone talking.

Who Are The Royal Family Dance Crew?

The Royal Family Dance Crew, are a dance group from New Zealand that has performed with multiple celebrities over time. They are just one of the groups that train at The Palace Studio, alongside ReQuest, Duchess, Varsity, Bubble and Kingsmen.

The dance school was founded by Parris Goebel, who is one of the main choreographers for the troops. In 2011, Goebel was hired to choreograph Jennifer Lopez’s tour. Royal Family dance group Request then performed with the star on American Idol the next year.

The troop has been featured on Circe de Soleil, Dancing with the Stars and performed with multiple artists at music award shows. As well as these performances, the Royal Family Dance crew have featured in Justin Bieber‘s music videos for Sorry, What Do You Mean? and Children. Parris Goebel has been involved in choreographing all of these.

Justin is just one of the singers to want to work with the dancers. Other artists to use one of the crews are Jason Derulo, Enrique Iglesias and Psy.

Their Super Bowl 2023 performance wasn’t the first time that the Royal Family Dance Crew had taken part in the gig. In 2020, their dancers were used for the Shakira and J Lo halftime show.

The viral TikTok video has almost 6 million views after being posted less than a day ago. It’s hiking up the likes as well, with well over 800k. After seeing the footage, fans of the dance group weren’t surprised that they were behind the performance and that Parris helped choreograph it.

One commented: “I just KNEW it was Parris Goebel behind this type of dance.”

Another agreed, ” I knew it was Royal Family the moment they were all in synchronisation.”

Baffled, fans commented on the talented dancers and the moves they can pull off:

“But how do people make their bodies move like this? I can’t even nod and talk at the same time.”

“My toxic trait is thinking I could do this.”

The bottom line is the Royal Family Dance Crew TikTok video has thoroughly impressed us with their moves. Sure, all of our For You pages have been Rihanna and her Super Bowl performance since Sunday. But, we’re not really complaining, particularly if we get more behind the scenes of the gig.
