Fames for its weather, nature and great surfing spots, it’s a great place to take your studies. However, you’ll need to know where to attend, so these are the best universities in Australia.

With it being such a big country, having no clue about the top universities is understandable, even if you live there. 10. Macquarie University

This is among the top 2 per cent of universities in the world, so we’re already impressing as soon we enter the list. Located in Sydney, New South Wales. Famed for its specialism in business, health and medical sciences, over 40,000 attend each year.

With a great scholarship program, it’s popular with international students.

9. University of Technology Sydney

Still in Sydney, this university is 133 in the world. Specifically in the technology precinct of the city, the university covers many subjects. These include agriculture, criminology, science and technology and many more.

8. University of Western Australia

Moving away from one of its most famous cities to another, UWA is situated in Perth. One of the Group of Eight (Go8) research universities in Australia, it’s well known for psychology, agriculture sciences, marine sciences, education and more.

7. University of Adelaide

Making it halfway through the list is ANU. Ranked 62 in the world, this university is in the country’s capital of Canberra and the only one created by the Australian Government. Jumping to fourth place and 54 in the world is the University of Sydney. The university offers a huge range of subjects with over 400 areas of study. It’s also a bustling place, with 70,000 students and alumni of 350,000 — not surprising as the oldest university in Australia.

3. University of Queensland

2. Monash University

Situated in Melbourne, Monash University is the largest in Australia. It’s also part of the Go8 and offers more than 6,000 courses. Its ten faculties are: art, design and architecture, arts, business and economics, education, engineering, information technology, law, medicine, nursing and health sciences, pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences and science
