One of the biggest hitters in Higher Education, The University of Cambridge has it all.

Here are some key facts about the University of Cambridge:

  • Founded in 1209
  • Has 31 Colleges and 150 Departments, Institutes and Schools
  • Consists of two main campuses, the West and the East, with various student halls spread throughout the city
  • Student population of over 20,000
  • Recognized as one of the top universities in the world for many subjects including Natural Sciences, Humanities, and Technology.

The University of Cambridge’s history goes back over 800 years. Throughout the centuries, the university has produced countless groundbreaking discoveries and notable alumni, including Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, and Stephen Hawking.

As a student, you can expect a thriving social life in Cambridge. The city is brimming with culture and activities, from museums and art galleries to theaters and cinemas. There are loads of clubs and societies, including sports teams, music groups, and cultural organizations. There are also plenty of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants, with popular spots including the Corn Exchange and the Junction.

Let’s cut to the chase – nightlife!

Cambridge has traditional pubs and bars alongside nightclubs and music venues. Some of the most popular bars include the Eagle, the Anchor, and the Devonshire Arms, while great nightclubs include Kuda and Life.

Fancy something more lowkey? Cambridge is also home to some of the world’s most famous landmarks and attractions, including King’s College Chapel, the River Cam, and the Botanic Garden.

Notable alumni of the university include Emma Thompson, John Maynard Keynes, and Eddie Redmayne.
