As summer draws to an end, fears of the winter blues may set in! So how do you ease the winter blues?

The winter blues can make you dread the colder evenings and have you reminiscing on all those light summer nights that you got to enjoy this summer.

Beating these winter blues is very much possible through redirection. Redirecting your association with the negative aspects of winter can help you get excited about all the amazing things that this chilly season has to offer.

This can be achieved by planning winter trips, getting your holiday costumes ready, and, of course preparing for Christmas.

Below are some of my favourite and best ways to overcome the fear of winter blues through redirection and getting excited!

Winter Getaways

Most people look forward to planning their holiday in summer, so you can enjoy the blistering heat. Yet winter getaways can prove to be just as exciting.

Hiring a cottage with some friends, enjoying drinks by the fireplace, and even going somewhere with a hot tub so you can sit outside and remain toasty, is a trip that you will not regret.

Airbnb does some cheap and affordable winter stays if you start looking now and get booking wherever you want to go.

Although I’ve never tried it myself, skiing is one of many people’s favourite winter breaks.

Although slightly on the expensive side, if you are an avid skier or snowboarder, planning this long-awaited trip to some of your favourite destinations will be at the top of your winter to-do list!

Planning for the Holidays

One thing that cannot be denied is that winter brings some of the most exciting holiday seasons out of the whole year.

No matter your faith or religion, there is always an event that you may have been waiting for all year.

This could be Halloween, bonfire night, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, or New Year’s Eve! These are just a few of the popular events that take place during the winter period. Planning nights out, meals with friends and family, or your yearly traditions, is a great way to have your winter packed full of excitement.

So there you have it. If you want to ease the winter blues, there are some simple things you can look forward to in order to make things far more bearable.
