A new filter has gone viral on the app, attempting to guess the biggest flaws about ourselves. With everybody getting involved, including Kylie Jenner, here’s how to to the red flag filter on TikTok.
At this point, most of us know what a red flag is, we might just not want to admit it about ourselves. No, we don’t need to do any deep-soul searching as a TikTok filter is finding our biggest flaws in our character traits for us.
It might not be entirely accurate, but it’s creating some funny videos, especially as Kylie Jenner has made a load of them.
Perhaps it will reveal something painfully true that you don’t want to admit, or maybe it’s completely off. Eitherway, everyone is getting involved and here’s how you can too.
What Is A Red Flag?
Just in case you haven’t heard of it before, a red flag is something about a person which acts as a warning sign.
It’s something bad about them that should put you off getting into a relationship or friendship with them. Sometimes the colour of a flag can be subjective, like a beige flag, but lots of people agree on some red flag traits.
The flag itself might not be the bad thing itself, but a sign of something coming later on in the relationship that will make them a problematic partner.
We all have things that put us off in a relationship, so there are a wide range of things that could be considered a red flag.
The Red Flag Filter Takes Over TikTok
Now, a red flag filter has been created guessing the warning signs of the person using it. It’s all a bit of fun, but it’s gone viral and then some.
The red flag filter hashtag has over 4 million views on the social media platform. People have been trying it out on themselves, friends and even characters.
People using the filter get three red flag emojis above their heads before they turn and reveal the warning signs that person has.
Sometimes, they’re a little too accurate…
If you want to have a go at exposing yourself, here’s how to do the TikTok red flag effect.
- Head onto the app.
- Click on the plus sign.
- Click ‘Effects’.
- Search for ‘my red flags’
- Tap on the filter to apply it to your video.
If you’ve seen the videos all over your For You page, you can also just select the effect from a video and it will take you to make your own version.
Kylie Jenner Used The Red Flag Effect
Yesterday, (June 9) the youngest Kardashian sibling and billionaire got involved with the trend. She didn’t just make one video using the effect, but 4, posting them one after another. All-together, the videos have 35 million views
Though she doesn’t speak loads in the videos, Kylie Jenner‘s reactions to her red flags are more than enough to show how she feels about them. She definitely disagrees with most of them, but you can tell when something is a little too accurate for the 25-year-old.
Fans loved the quick videos, laughing at her admitting that she “sometimes” picks her nose. At least she’s honest.
“The silence is so loud,” one commented.
“girl, how many of these have you done?” Another asked as Kylie added yet another to the collection.
If Kylie Jenner is obsessed with the red flag filter, then it’s definitely one for us all to try. Have a go and see if you’ll dare to post the results!
