Who Are The Most Followed Women on Instagram?

Selena Gomes has once again claimed her throne as the woman with the most followers on the platform after overtaking Kylie Jenner. Now the singer is back in the number one spot, we look at the most followed women on Instagram as of February 2023.

Having followers is a commitment. Having literally hundreds of millions of them is unfathomable. Think of the size of the room you’d need to fit them all in. We all love Instagram and keeping up to date with friends and celebrities we adore. Turns out, a huge amount of us using the platform love Selena Gomes as she tops the follower charts once again.

Selena Gomez Is The Most Followed Woman

The singer had the title before and now she has reclaimed it. As of yesterday (February 23), Selena Gomez was crowned the most followed woman as she hit 382 million on Instagram. For a little while, Kylie Jenner was at the top with 380 million, having taken pole position from Selena before.

The achievement is pretty impressive as Selena only regained control of her account in January. For the 4 years before this, the singer gave posting rights to her team and deleted the app from her phone.

However, she has no regrets about that decision, telling InStyle:

“Taking a break from social media was the best decision that I’ve ever made for my mental health. I created a system where I still don’t have my passwords. And the unnecessary hate and comparisons went away once I put my phone down.”

It seems as if she is taking another break from Instagram after her latest pic dropped the news.

Posted 15 hours ago, it already has over 14 million likes and 175k comments, mostly telling her how amazing she looks in the picture.

Whilst she definitely uploads some glammed-up pics and celeb-bombed posts, she’s also known for keeping it very real on the platform. We’re really not surprised that the title is hers once again.

At this point, we of course all know who owns the top spot, but lets take a look at the other women taking the platform by storm.

2. Kylie Jenner

Again, unsurprising bearing in mind she was just number one. With 380 million followers the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner class is quick on the singer’s heels, particularly will all the baby pics she’s now uploading of her son Aire.

Kylie Jenner posts some family pics, but it’s more often than not a gorgeous selfie with something or somewhere expensive.

3. Ariana Grande

It seems we love singers, as the third most followed woman on Instagram is Ariana Grande with 357 million.

The singer doesn’t post all too often, but when she does everyone loves it. Recently, she took to Instagram to promote her collaboration with The Weeknd, posts which have over almost 6 million likes in under a day.

Ariana mostly uses the account to promote her music or products, but every now and then she gives her fans a little insight into her personal life.

4. Kim Kardashian

It was only a matter of time before we saw another Kardashian on this list. Though her youngest sister has more followers, we love the OG Kim Kardashian too. With 346 million followers, she’s the fourth most followed and we’re not surprised.

The TV personality and businesswoman posts a lot of similar content to Kylie, but that doesn’t stop everyone from wanting it.

5. Beyonce

Although she doesn’t follow anyone, the legendary singer has 297 million followers. Whilst this is a bit of a jump down from the other most followed women on Instagram, it’s still very impressive.

Beyonce’s recent post announcing her Renaissance world tour got a huge 8.1 million likes, with fans desperate to get tickets. Primarily, she used the account to promote her music, but she does share updates with the Beyhive. This includes when she won three Grammys and the odd cute family moment.

Let’s face it, we all love to see women succeed. These career-defining women are all worth a follow on Instagram, after all, everyone else is!
